The ALERT allows you to listen to your surroundings, even boosting weak sounds to improve your hearing in certain situations, and yet attenuating loud, harmful noises. You can connect your MP3 player or IPOD to the ALERT radio headset, by using the FL6N audio input cable, sold separately.
